Abode laundry powder is a locally made product, produced in Melbourne Australia, and is also locally owned. The whole brand has been formulated specifically for people who have sensitivities and need to only use natural laundry products in their home.
The Abode laundry powder formula is high performance and rivals supermarket brands. It’s biodegradable, grey water safe and formulated to be used in both top and front load machines. Originally there were two separate formulas, one low sudsing for front load and the sudsing formula for top loaders. The low sudsing formula performs just as well in a top load machine so now they only make one.
What’s in the Abode laundry powder range?
Like the laundry liquid, there are 2 scented powders, lavender and mint plus blue mallee eucalyptus and also an unscented formula. The Abode Zero is unscented for sensitive noses and is by far the most popular of the three. They use a variety of food grade and natural ingredients plus essential oils in the scented versions. There’s no artificial fragrances. The ingredients used are Soda ash (alkalinity builder), baking soda (food grade), sodium citrate (food grade), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (derived from coconut oil), sodium coco sulphate (derived from coconut oil), sodium disilicate (derived from sand), alkylpolyglucosides (derived from corn, wheat and coconut) and essential oils.
How concentrated is the Abode laundry powder?
A 4kg tub gives you approx 200 loads, at just a tablespoon per load. That’s under 30c per load. Natural laundry products don’t have to break the bank.
Can you buy Abode Laundry Powder in bulk?
Yes. In fact, it’s the only way we sell it. The 1kg tubs are not listed in our store because they are nowhere near the same value for money and people just weren’t buying them. Bulk sizes used to be 5kg but the sizes were changed in 2022/23 to be 4kg. With our 10kg limit on orders, this means you can now get two bulk Abode cleaning products on to one order.
How much does it cost to ship bulk Abode laundry powder?
Please understand that from a business perspective, we would be much better off if we just didn’t sell these products. They are heavy, low cost and take up a lot of room in our warehouse. When the stock arrives, it’s like a workout at the gym for the staff to unpack them and put them away. They have the lowest profit of anything in our store and they’re some of the most popular products. Even with the freight charges we charge, we subsidise freight in our store and when you buy these bulk cleaning products, we don’t make any money on them. They are in the store because our store owner has chemical sensitivities and she understands just how important it is for families to be able to wash their clothes without their families reacting to synthetic ingredients. There is a limit of 10kg per order, so you can get 2 of these on an order, but not much else. They weigh close to 5kg each once packed. It’s almost impossible to qualify for free shipping with bulk cleaning products and we do understand that the freight on these is high, but it’s the only way we can afford to keep them on our shelves for those who really need them.
