Olive & Bee is an oil based 100% natural intimate cream that was developed with so much more than sexual intercourse in mind. This lubricant is the creation of Adelaide physiotherapist Claire Osterstock and a compounding pharmacist to create a product that was 100% natural that could be used by Claire’s patients.
Claire specialises in helping both men and women with pelvic pain in her practice and she was not happy with the synthetic chemicals and preservatives that were irritating her patients. She was supposed to be helping them, not suggesting products that would cause a problem. So, Olive & Bee was born.
While Olive & Bee can be used for sexual intercourse, this was not the main goal. Claire wanted to produce a multi-tasking safe and natural product that could be purchased openly in a store without it looking like sex lube, as some of her female patients had expressed they were uncomfortable buying it.
Olive & Bee is made from just 2 ingredients, even though they went through 26 recipes to get this final consistency. Made from Extra Virgin Olive OIl and Beeswax, the antibacterial and anti-fungal properties of olive oil along with being high in antioxidants means it’s self preserving without the need to add chemicals, unlike water based lube which needs preserving. Beeswax is a natural thickener and has its own anti-inflammatory properties. Their low water content means they won’t interfere with the vainga’s delicate pH balance and won’t grow bacterial, fungi or mould.
The consistency of Olive & Bee also makes it a great lip balm, massage oil, body moisturiser and a balm for bites and scratches. OIl based lubricants are not suitable for use with condoms or sex toys.
