Do stainless steel pegs leave marks on clothes?
All pegs leave marks when using them on a clothes line but you can lessen the impact by choosing a smarter place to put the pegs on the clothes. The infinity style pegs only leave a small line and have a smaller footprint on clothes than most other pegs.
Do metal pegs get hot?
This is the most asked question about stainless steel pegs. The wire pegs DO NOT overheat in the sun. We have spoken with countless customers who live in 35-40°C heat and they are still fine to the touch when left in the sun on a hot day. Metal pegs are great pegs to use in the heat because they stay cool to the touch and they won't crack and perish from the temperature like plastic pegs will.
Do stainless steel pegs rust?
There are different grades of stainless steel used to make our stainless steel clothes pegs. Whether they rust depends on what grade you buy and how you treat them. 201 grade stainless steel pegs are for regular conditions and should be brought inside in between uses. They are significantly cheaper and should be fine for most people. 304 grade stainless steel clothes pegs are for people living near salty conditions and can probably be left outside in between uses, but we still recommend you bring them inside. 316 grade is marine grade stainless steel and are for extreme weather. Our Pincinox Pegs are by far the best quality. Made in France, they are industrial grade stainless steel and they have been rust tested by staying completely immersed in salty water for 3 months. Invest in a set of Pincinox Pegs and they'll last a lifetime and then you'll hand them down.
Are metal clothes pegs worth the investment?
Yes. Great quality is always worth the investment. If you buy the right grade for your conditions, you'll never have to deal with cheap laundry pegs that break and go to landfill again. They are the best pegs as an eco friendly choice and the Pincinox pegs are multi purpose because they're also oven and freezer safe, so they can be used in the kitchen as well as on the clothes line. If you purchase the higher grade packs to make a complete set, most people will qualify for free delivery.
Are bamboo pegs better than wooden pegs?
Our bamboo pegs are made from bamboo and a stainless steel spring and will biodegrade at end of life. Unlike wooden pegs, bamboo are significantly less likely to leave 'tannin stains' on light clothing. They are best brought back inside when not in use to extend their life.
