The Best 2 Litre Water Bottle 2024 Edition
Since we should all be drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water a day*, the best 2 litre water bottle for you will carry just about everything you need for the day. Depending on who you are, what you do in a day and how much you want to carry with you while you're out, one bottle in particular will meet your needs over the others. This blog post is designed to help you work out what that is.
The best 2 litre water bottle that's lightweight
Let's start with the very first 2L water bottle we had in our store. It's made from hard BPA Free plastic, looks like a water cooler bottle, complete with the carry handle built in to the bottle, just like your water cooler. It's actually 2.2 litres in capacity and has a reasonably wide opening to drink from. It's certainly big enough to put some ice cubes down, but it's not insulated, so they will melt relatively quickly.
These bottles, while bpa free plastic, are not indestructible. If you drop one full of water, there's a chance it may break. Pretend like its's made out of glass and this bottle will be good to you. It is available in multiple colours, but we put the original 'old school' water cooler colour in the shot for a little bit of history!
The best 2 litre water bottle (non insulated) made from stainless steel
To keep the weight down in a stainless steel bottle, we have one that's made from stainless steel and is only single wall. There's no insulation in this bottle, so you'll need to keep that in mind if it's going to sit in a hot car all day.
The pros of this bottle is the weight when compared to an insulated water bottle but the cons are there's no other lids available for this bottle, just the wide mouth screw lid. The TKWide lids do NOT fit this bottle. It's not a great seller for us but it does have a market, especially for anyone carrying water that doesn't need to remain cold. This may not be the best 2 litre water bottle for many, but it is worth a mention.
The best 2 litre water bottle to take to a picnic
New to the Shop Naturally stainless steel water bottle range in 2024, this is less of a water bottle and more of a water jug. The Oasis Stainless Steel Jug is straight up and down size gives it the widest mouth opening of any bottle in the category. It does have a drinking spout on the lid if you want to drink from it directly, but when full, it's heavy and not so easy to hold.
We like this one for a trip to a picnic because it can hold just over 2 litres of liquid (anything NON carbonated) and it can even hold hot water for coffee or soup or anything you want to keep insulated. You could even take a casserole to a dinner party in it. As well as the 2 litre size shown, it's also available in a taller 3.8 litre size. Both the 2 litre water bottle and the 3.8 litre water bottle insulate hot drinks up to 12 hours and cold drinks up to 24 hours.
The best 2 litre water bottle to take to the gym
In the same style as the first one on the page, this is the stainless steel insulated version of the 'water cooler bottle'. It's actually 2.2 litres in size and insulates hot up to 12 hours and cold up to 24 hours. it's easy to drink from with the screw lid the same size as your average water bottle, and you can hold it by the handle to drink from. You can quench a seriously healthy thirst with this water bottle.
When empty, this bottle weighs just under 1kg, and when full, almost 3kg. You can do some weights warm ups with this one!!
Notable mentions - the best 1.5 litre water bottles
Notable mentions need to go to the Oasis Water Bottle in the Moda range which comes in a 1 litre and a 1.5 litre version. The thing that makes this bottle stand out that's just not available in a 2 litre water bottle is the ceramic lining in the bottle. It's a dupe of the Frank Green insulated ceramic lined water bottles at a fraction of the price. We are able to source replacement lids if you need them.
The other notable mention is the 1.5 litre version of the Chute Camelbak Water bottle. It's non-insulated, make from bpa free tritan plastic and is significantly more sturdy than the tritan bottle at the top of the page. It has a screw cap that's attached to the lid and to ensure it doesn't get in the way when you're drinking, there's a magnet on the lid and it holds itself in place in the open position.
The Australian Government Health Direct website states that as a general rule, adult men should drink around 10 cups (2.6 litres) per day and women around 8 cups (2.1 litres) of fluid per day.
