The ecobud Gentoo jug removes chlorine from your drinking water, contaminants and bacteria and up to 98% of fluoride.

How much does it cost to run?

The filter cartridges in the ecobud Gentoo water filter can be used for up to 3 months or anywhere between 600 to 800 litres, depending on the quality of your water. We compared the initial purchase price of the jug and 12 months of filter cartridges with the Brita Jug and here's what we came up with.

ecobud Gentoo - $103.80 for first 12 months (covers approx. 2,400 to 3,200 litres of water)
- initial purchase $49.95 + 3 replacement cartridges at $17.95 each

Brita Marella - a bare minimum of $125.95 for 12 months (but only covers 700 litres of water)
- initial purchase $34.95 + at least 7 x 8 week / 100 litre Maxtra cartridges at $13 each

As you can see, the per litre pricing and the entire 12 month price is cheaper with the ecobud Gentoo. This means you can easily afford to filter all the water you cook with as well as the water you drink. It really is a no brainer if you're deciding which jug to purchase. You'll never go back to a Brita jug after purchasing the ecobud Gentoo.
