Hemp Products - do you want hemp seeds, oil or protein powder?
What Are Hemp Seeds?
Hemp is considered one of the most nutritious plants in the world. They grow on a variety of Cannabis Sativa, but they are actually a variety of cannabis without the psychoactive properties. Until late 2017 these Hemp seed based products were not legal to be sold for human consumption. But that has now changed and we can sell these amazing seeds and promote all their benefits to our customers.
Hemp seeds are essentially the fruit (or nut) of the hemp plant. They contain all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential ones that our bodies can't produce on its own. Hemp seeds are also a rich source of essential minerals, including magnesium, calcium, zinc (a great help to support the immune system), and iron for oxygenating the blood. They contain fibre, vitamin D3, vitamin E, B vitamins (including folate) and GLA (gamma linolenic acid) and are packed with protein.
You can buy hemp products for human consumption in three different varieties - the hemp seeds, hemp protein powder, and hemp seed oil.
Hemp seeds.
Hemp seeds are small crunchy seed, generally sold without the husk and the inside is a white, soft, creamy substance with a mild, nutty flavor. They are great for sprinkling on salads, smoothies and desserts, can be used to make hemp milk, and also added into home made snack bars and granola type products. For cosmetic purposes, they are great for making hemp milk soap.
Hemp seed oil.
Hemp seed oil is made from cold pressing hemp seeds to extract the oil component. The hemp oil has a wonderful balance of omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids in very large amounts. Hemp oil tastes really nice and works great as a salad dressing, smoothies, sauces and dips or simply drizzled over your meal.
Hemp protein powder.
Hemp protein is made by taking the crushed seed after the oil has been pressed from it. A very fine powder is then created by cold-milling (so the product remains raw) and then sieving. The entire process does not use heat, chemicals or solvents. The resulting protein powder can be used in smoothies, snack bars, muffins, and much more.
