This week sees SealPod back on our shelves, our first reusable coffee pods for Nespresso machines, and they are joined by WayCap, who are are a true 100% zero waste solution.

Below, we explain the difference between the two systems and give a few product tips for our tea drinkers too!

THE LID - the main difference between the SealPod and the WayCap system is the lids. SealPod requires a single use sticker to seal the pod before it goes in to your machine. They are available in a biodegradable lid or an espresso lid (which does create that small amount of waste). The ongoing costs for the lids are around 15c per coffee. WayCap comes with 4 different grades of stainless steel lids (depending on the grind of your coffee) and are infinitely reusable.

THE  INITIAL COST - for the initial purchase, SealPod is always going to be the cheaper option.

EASE OF USE & PERFORMANCE

Both systems are on an even playing field with ease of use. The single use lids on the SealPod do edge them slightly ahead in the performance stakes, but at the same time, pull them down a fraction in sustainability.
