You know you're getting quality with the Camelbak Water Bottles warranty because it lasts a lifetime on their products, and when you buy from an official Australian stockist, you know your warranty will be honoured if something goes wrong.

Camelbak have been in business since 1989 with their hydration packs. Over time, they realised their bite valve technology would translate to the water bottle market, and in 2009, they were the one of the earliest brands we stocked. In fact, we were the first online retailer in Australia to ask to stock them we were that impressed with the quality.

Camelbak Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee

In 2011, Camelbak introduced the Got Your Bak™ Lifetime Guarantee. This covers all Camelbak products, including bottles, reservoirs, backpacks and accessories against manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the product. As an official Australian stockist, any Camelbak product you purchase from us is covered under this lifetime guarantee. Simply contact us with your issue, and the faulty component will be replaced for you at no charge if it falls under their guidelines. There are a few things that aren't covered.

Camelbak Water Bottles Warranty - troubleshooting a new bite valve

Before contacting us about this warranty issue, this is one thing that can usually be resolved with just a minute or two of your time. It's not a common issue, but once in a while, when you bite a new bite valve for the first time, the slit may not open. If this happens to you, spend a couple of minutes manipulating it with your hands or biting it and more often than not, the slit will pop open on its own. It will take more than one or two squeezes to get it to pop open, so spend a couple of minutes with it and squeeze from as many different directions as you can and you should be fine.

Camelbak Water Bottles Warranty put to the test

We have had very few warranty claims needed for this brand, however, in the very early days, what we now know as the Eddy bottle was called the Better Bottle. A small batch of these lids had issues with the bite valve casing breaking lugs. It was enough of an issue that we arranged to have a stock of replacement lids on hand and replaced any of them that had an issue.

Like all good quality brands, they research and innovate, and after this issue, the Better Bottle lid went through a complete redesign and it's now what we know as the Eddy bottle. The thread on the Better Bottle and the Eddy bottle remain the same to this day, so if have an old Better Bottle at home and the lid doesn't work for you anymore, keep the bottle and just buy an Eddy lid for it.

Which lids fit which bottles?

Whether you're getting something replaced under the Camelbak Water Bottles Warranty or simply buying a spare, it's good to know what lid fits what.

The Camelbak Eddy (both the adult and the kids version) and the Camelbak Chute all share the same thread. You can place a Chute lid on any Eddy bottle and visa versa. There is a difference in the design of the Eddy and the Eddy Kids lids and it has to do with the size and placement of the bite valve. The adult Eddy bottle has the bite valve slide on from the top. On the kids bottle it slides on from underneath so they can't accidentally bite it off and swallow it. Camelbak Eddy Kids straw kits will always have straws that suit the height of the 400ml bottles only.

Camelbak Podium is a high performance squeezable sports bottle designed to sit in a bike cage. They have their own unique valve system and have their own thread. You can only put a podium lid on a podium bottle.

In the past, there was a bottle called the Camelbak Groove. It had a water filter built in to it. Like most bottles in this category, getting decent water flow while sucking water through a water filter is a challenge. After a period of time this bottle was discontinued. We are unable to get lids or spares for it but I believe they did share the same thread as the Eddy and the Chute bottle.
