Noosa Basics is a brand we had in store in our first few years of trade. The Noosa Basics deodorant was not part of the range then. We trialled their first dental floss back then for a brief period. Since then, Noosa Basics as a brand has had quite the evolution, including the dental floss and the wide range of other products available in the brand.

The Noosa Basics Deodorant Tin

Noosa Basics Deodorant available in 4 different applications

One hurdle when trying to convince someone to swap over to a natural deodorant is the packaging and application. For many people, handing them a tin and telling them they have to stick their finger in it and then rub it under their pits is enough to deter them from making a switch. Noosa Basics have 4 different application methods for their organic deodorant range, starting from the very familiar roll-on.

  • The Noosa Basics Deodorant Roll-On is packed in a glass bottle to keep the plastic use to a minimum. It does have a plastic roller ball and lid. It is a bi-carb soda based formula.
  • The Noosa Basics Deodorant Stick is packed in plastic. For many men in particular, the wind up solid stick is familiar and it's easier to get the deodorant in and out than the 100% plastic free cardboard tube options we see from other brands.
  • The Noosa Basics Deodorant Tin is the 100% plastic free option for those comfortable with rubbing a small pea sized piece of deodorant paste under their pits. It is the most eco-friendly option of the 4.
  • The Noosa Basics Deodorant Spray is a non-aerosol spray in a metal bottle. It's bi-carb soda free and uses magnesium and a series of Australian essential oils including Lemon Myrtle and Tea Tree among others.

Noosa Basics Deodorant scent choices

There are nine different scent options available in the Noosa Basics Deodorant range. Many of the across all 4 of the application types. We don't stock all of them, but we can special order in anything you may need with a 2-3 week wait.

Do Noosa Basics Deodorant have bi-carb free options?

Yes they do. All 4 sprays are bi-carb free, powered with magnesium chloride and probiotics and essential oils. In the roll-on, stick and tin options, the Coconut & Lime scent as well as the Sweet Orange & Lavender are all powered with magnesium hydroxide instead of bi-carb soda.

If you would like to see any of these in the range we carry on our own shelves, please let us know. They were not added to the limited range we chose from the bestsellers.

Why is a bi-carb free option important in a natural deodorant?

While 100% natural, bi-carb soda is a powerful ingredient capable of all kinds of things, including as the base for a number of home made eco friendly natural cleaning products along with vinegar and lemon juice. It's a raising agent in cooking and is exception at absorbing odour. Put a bowl in your fridge and rid yourself of any lingering odours. It is this power that has it a core ingredient of many natural deodorant formulas. Unfortunately for some, either immediately or over time, it can be a skin irritant. When this happens, an armpit detox and a swap to a bi-carb free deodorant is needed.
