The Hluru Mini Tongue Drum is a fun musical instrument that anyone can play as soon as they pick it up. It is tuned to the Pentatonic Scale of C. If you have no musical experience, all this means is that you can't play a wrong note. Anything you play will sound beautiful. The Pentatonic Scale is the scale of all the black notes on a piano - or for those with some musical knowledge, notes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the major scale.
Your Hluru Mini Tongue Drum fits in the palm of your hand and comes with one mallet ready to play. It has 8 notes - C, D, E, G, A and C5 (an octave above the first C, which is C4, or middle C on a piano).
WHO DOES THIS DRUM SUIT?
Think of the mini tongue drum like a musical stress ball. Like all our tongue drums, they make a great music therapy instrument. It's compact, lightweight, needs absolutely NO musical training and you can't hit a wrong note on it. For an adult, it makes a fun and thoughtful gift for someone to keep on their desk at work for some stress relief. For a child, it's a great way to introduce a musical instrument with no training. It helps to train hand / eye co-ordination along with sound. Supervise young children with the mallet.

TONE - This drum has a sharp and bright tone that rings for around 1 to 2 seconds depending on how hard you hit it. Hitting it with a softer mallet than the one provided will mellow the tone and the volume a little. Please watch our video to hear the tongue drum being played.
