Soapberries are a natural alternative to powder and liquid laundry liquids. Sometimes called soapberries or soapnuts, they are the dried shell of the fruit from the Sapindus Mukorossi tree. They are most prevalent in the Himalayas. The shells are wild harvested from pristine mountains my small local communities using sustainable practices.

These discarded shells, once collected, are dried and ready to be used as a cleaning agent. The shells are high in saponin, which is a natural foaming soap. When used in a load of laundry, they reduce the surface tension of the water so it can remove dirt, leaving the fabric soft and clean.

They are suitable for babies, people with sensitive skin, they're fully compostable and are chemical free, grey water safe and septic tank safe. They eliminate the need for fabric softener too.

While the soapberries themselves have a smell, they don't leave any lingering smell in your laundry. If you like your laundry to have a scent, simply add a few drops of your favourite essential oils to the wash.

Weight - 1kg
Washes - 365+ loads of laundry
How to use - Place 5 soapberries in to the small canvas bag provided and place them in your washing machine. Each set of berries will do approx. 5 loads of washing
Made In - Australian company - soapberries hand collected from the Himalayas
Packaging - The soapberries come in a canvas drawstring bag and are now in a paper bag on the inside, making them a plastic free product. While they don't leave any smell on your clothes after washing, the raw berries do have a lingering smell. If you purchased food, beeswax food wraps or anything else delicate that may pick up on the smell, we may protect either the soapberries or other items in your parcel with an exterior plastic bag so the smell doesn't cross over on to other products and ruin them. This is always done with plastic bags we re-purpose and recycle from other product packaging. We do not buy them in. You can dispose of them through the recycling program REDCYCLE. If you do not wish us to do this, please let us know.
